Côte d'Azur sailing

Peace & sophistication, all in one

The magical Côte d’Azur

Traditional Côte d'Azur villageWords like Côte d’Azur & French Riviera tend to conjure up notions of casinos, high spending and fast living along the gorgeous Mediterranean coast.

The delights of Nice, the beauties of the Cannes film festival and bohemian/sophistication of St Tropez might spring to mind — and of course a vast array of yachts to charter. Mega yachts with full professional crews and sailing yachts to waft you silently among the creeks and hiding places of the Riviera from Port Grimaud to Monte Carlo.

All the above is there, of course, including bareboat charter from Antibes-Juan les Pins at its heart, to St Raphaël and on to St Mandrier for the glorious Iles d’Hyères — Porquerolles and Port Cros.

A vast choice of cruises to the most beautiful anchorages of the Côte d’Azur await you. The islands of Hyères with their creeks and white, sandy shores and their nature reserve are within easy reach. Further to the West you will fall under the spell of the magical Calanques of Cassis and their startling cliffs failing sheer to the sea. Unless of course you prefer the classical destinations of the Côte d’Azur — Cannes, Antibes or Monaco.

Nice port Côte d'Azur

If time allows you can set course for the enchanting island of Corsica. Calvi is less than 100 nautical miles away. Then you can enjoy the magnificent scenery as you cruise down to Bonifacio, the Lavezzi Islands or even continue on to Sardinia.

If you have more time…
Ochre rocks in the coastal pine forest of the Côte d'AzurAlthough the Summer months are still the most popular, Spring and Autumn offer more tranquil cruising in almost deserted waters. You can enjoy the Mediterranean climate, wonderful sailing weather at excellent prices.

September in particular has several prestigious events; the Monaco Classic Week, the Cannes Royal Regattas and the Voiles de Saint Tropez (previously the Nioulargue).

In June there is the Rolex cup which brings together a selection of ex-Americas Cup yachts which provide the most amazing spectacle as they beat their way up the Gulf of St Tropez.
